Vallimalai is located near Vellore. This is the birth place of Goddess Valli. The Murugan temple is situated on a hill. This temple is constructed under a big rock.Location around this temple is really natural and enjoyable.You would get a feel of trekking when you go to this temple. There is one Ashram for Sri Satchidananda Swamigal on top of the hill.

How to reach from Chennai: 1. From Chennai (CMBT) take a bus to Vellore (2.5hrs  travel). From Vellore you can get the direct bus to Vallimalai or take the bus to Ponnai which runs through Vallimalai. 

2. From Chennai(CMBT) take a bus to Vellore and get down at Walaja-muthu kadai bus stop. From muthukadai bus stop you can get the bus to Vallimalai.

Facilities in Vallimalai: No accommodation facilities are available in Vallimalai. It is better to stay in Vellore itself. Small hotels and Tea shops are available around the Temple.

Vellore is one of the main city in the Chennai to Bagalore highway. It is the junction point for Chittur in Andrapradesh. It has many tourist spot in its surroundings and has very interesting history.

How to reach from Chennai: From Koyembedu there are many buses available to Vellore. You can go there within 2.30hrs travel.  

Places to visit: Vellore Fort, Jalakandeswarar temple, Vallimalai Murugan Temple, Golden Temple,

2. This temple has many marvelous sculptures inside this temple

3.Vellore fort is one of the ancient fort. In outside they have the boating facility.

Thiruvannamalai is a famous city for its Sri Arunachaleswarar temple. It is one of the spiritual city in Tamilnadu and it is famous for girivalam on full moon day and Karthikai festival. There are lots of ashrams are located around the hill. Notable onces are Sri Ramanashram, Pavalakundru Ashram and Sri Seshadri ashram. Thiruvannamalai is well connected with Chennai and Bangalore.

How to reach from Chennai:From Koyembedu (CMBT) there are more buses are available. For Full moon day there are special buses are operated. In four hours travel we can go to Thiruvannamalai. Temple is near from Bus stand.
